1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using QuackPDFTools (available at quackpdftools.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and QuackPDFTools ("we," "us," or "our"). Your continued use of the Service following any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Service Description

QuackPDFTools provides a suite of free, browser-based PDF tools including but not limited to: PDF merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, watermarking, OCR (optical character recognition), signing, converting, protecting, and AI-based summarization.

100% Client-Side Processing: All file processing occurs entirely within your web browser. Files you select for processing are never transmitted to, uploaded to, or stored on our servers. This is a fundamental design principle of our service.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use QuackPDFTools only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service:

  • To process, store, or transmit any content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or harmful to others
  • To violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • To infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others, including processing documents you do not have the right to modify
  • To attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or related systems

4. Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of QuackPDFTools and its licensors. Our trademarks, service marks, logo, and trade name may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.

Your Content

You retain full ownership of any PDF files or documents you process using our Service. Since all processing is done client-side in your browser, no copies of your files are made on our servers. We claim no intellectual property rights over the documents you process.

Open Source Licenses

QuackPDFTools uses several open-source libraries to power its functionality. These libraries are licensed under their respective open-source licenses. Use of these libraries does not transfer any intellectual property rights to users.

5. Privacy

Your privacy is extremely important to us. Since all file processing occurs locally in your browser, your files are never seen by us. For information about how we collect, use, and disclose information from users of our Service, please see our Privacy Policy.

We may collect non-personal usage analytics (page views, tool usage counts, browser type) through Google Analytics to improve the Service. This data cannot be linked to specific individuals or the files they process.

6. Advertising

QuackPDFTools may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other third-party advertising networks. These ads help us keep the Service free. By using the Service, you consent to the display of such advertisements.

Third-party advertisers may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalized ads. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or the privacy practices of advertisers. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings.

7. Disclaimers and Warranties

QuackPDFTools does not warrant that:

  • The Service will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components
  • The results of using the Service will meet your requirements
  • The output files will be identical in all respects to the originals

We strongly recommend keeping backups of your original files before processing them with any tool, including ours.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL QUACKPDFTOOLS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Any content obtained from the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • File corruption, data loss, or inaccurate processing results

IN NO EVENT SHALL QUACKPDFTOOLS'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100.00).

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless QuackPDFTools and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by QuackPDFTools. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Since QuackPDFTools does not require user accounts, termination is implemented by blocking access from specific IP addresses or devices in cases of abuse.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
